I've always been a harry styles fan, since one direction although I never really cared about him beyond teenage finding a boyband, as a solo artist I followed his journey, he might be the only artist whom I listen to all his albums, gotta say kiss all the time disco occasionally is my faviotre one so far, a bit more experimental than his previous ones, I know nothing about music honestly I listen to the lyrics and the vibes and everything I write is my own understanding and feelings regarding the songs, not neccierly what do they really mean, isn't beautiful how we interpret art differently? so I got to start with my favorite song!
Season 2 Weight loss — the whole song and vibe, being afraid not being loved if you changed is a real fear for a lot of humans, what if someone loved\liked me for a shared hobby then i stopped? Will the love and friendship end with it?
The waiting game — this hurts a bit, we do tend to romantics our flaws and make them a personality which makes it hard to break free from them, if I'm not this then what am I ? making us miserable especially if you made a career out of it, an artist or a comedian, your whole inspo might change and the thought is scary, waiting for something you don't know when you will be ready to have or if you even want it to begin with, are we too comfortable in the waiting game?
Aperture — i fell in love as soon as I heard it, though I didn't even focuses on the meaning and lyrics the first time I was captured by the beat "like most of this album anyway" it's knowing and acknowledging old experiences, he was afraid in the previous two songs, now he's ready to embrace this new life, a life where uncertainty is not danger although he still has empty holes but he will let them be and let the light and love in, no matter what comes after it, the important in now
Taste Back — this song is a really great sarcastic rebuke! Calling again acting like there is nothing uncomfortable in the situation Sweeping it under the rug when you need some love and attention from someone who you previously hurt or just left,
American Girls — ouf this one. I didn't like it first time then slowly I fell in love, him only inserting himself in safe situations watching people risk for the rewards from afar, not single dirt on him always pampered, he's in an age where people tend to get married maybe even slow in life (if rich enough lol) him thinking being the single friend means having fun yet still missing the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day, I feel like this song is deeply personal to him not so much to me at least
Ready, Steady, Go! — this one is so fun! Fast paced reckless being so attracted to someone or even only the fun they bring, ready to be Impulsive with them if it means more of fun! Ready steady go after all, until you gets hit with a wakeup call you don't like, nothing much to say here, a reckless yet fun relationship you can't stop yourself from enjoying
Are You Listening Yet? — this feels like the wakeup call for Ready, Steady, Go! Lol, asking and reaching for help yet nothing seems to work, repeating the old bad habits, wanting to be and do good but what is good and are you a hypocrite trying to show the world your definition of good? Is it coming from the depth of your heart? You say you want to be good yet you ignore important ideals and people in your way, now you face a wall in your life, are you ready to break it?
Pop — i just popped and dance to this song lol, it was really hard for me to relate to this song, yet I tried. Harry described his addictions and his short relationships and wanting to make pop music, yet "pop" stills up to discussion, is it his drug, love life, celebrity life? Maybe all of them. he is expressing himself here, he wants to be true to himself and doesn't think he will stop lol he doesn't care about being a good fantasy for the public
Coming Up Roses — I hate this one since doomed love is the pain of my exitance! Especially when with some effort it can work yet someone is not willing/able to give this effort, him seeing no need for longevity to call a relationship a success it simply can be something that made you grow as a person or left you with a happy memory. For now, in this relationship even knowing the differences between both of them and how this will end of it you want to enjoy it fully.
Dance No More — these red shorts are an interesting choice lol. By time being able to enjoy the moment as an artist *or any other profession really* becomes hard. slowly you become removed from the experience you give to the others, yet you need to feel the joy and happiness of things you love and crate to feel alive
Paint By Numbers — this feels personal to harry to yet a lot of people could relate, being recognized as something before your humanity, being forced to keep a front of what people want and expect from you, painting by number is still an artistic activity yet you are restricted by where and how you should paint following a strict guideline.
Carla's Song — all I could think of is how amazing a late-night drive with this song would feel. There is this prideful and happy feeling when you get to share thing you love or crate to other people and seeing them genuinely beaming with happiness, amazement in their eyes and how contagious that feeling is. But I can't not mention how in the line If you know, then you know, if you don't, then you don't, that's heavenly, made me chuckles remembering
